This very handsome southern spice cupboard came out of Virginia. It is made out of cherry wood. The case is finely dovetailed with an applied molded cornice and the back boards are secured with early forged iron nails. The interior is divided with four cubby holes where there may have once been drawers. It has wonderful form with lovely boot-jack ends and still retains its lock and key. Ca. 1810-1820. It is a wonderful small size, measuring 36" tall by 24" wide and only 10" deep. A great piece of southern furniture!
