This fine water color and ink silhouette is depicting an early American room setting. There are three subjects, most likely husband, wife and son, with a dog laying nearby. The family, the dog, a Windsor chair and a lighting stand are are all done in ink. Each with great detail. The gentleman is holding a cane and has his had on his sons head. The woman is sitting in a wingback chair in deap discusion. The son is sitting on a foot stool and appears to be in some sort of trouble. The watercolor background shows a chandalier hanging from the ceiling and all is on top of a large oval braided rug. Executed on heavy stock. Housed in a wood frame. Minor imperfections consistant with age. Late 19th C. Measuring 18" by 14-3/4" framed.
