Early 19th C. Architectural Signage
This outstanding early sign was once part of an entire grouping that would run the perimeter of the inside of a dry goods store. This one is actually two sections. Reverse painted on glass with gold and black lettering, salmon shadowing, on a cream colored ground. Each glass panel was encased into the thick mahogany backboard with a heavy applied mahogany crown molding and chip-carved trim with rosettes. A terrific piece of early signage! Canadian origin. Minor imperfections.
