This extraordinayry apothecary cabinet dates to the late 1800's. Made out of solid cherry with 28 drawers that have applied face moldings. The drawers are constructed with tiny square nails. This came out of a 19th C. general store or pharmacy in Macon County, Missouri. The surface has been scraped down at some point to remnants of its white base coat that you see here. It has 25 of its original 28 pulls, although not attached. The pulls for the top four drawers are different than those for the larger drawers. The larger pulls had a space to insert labels, as the smaller pulls were just rounded pulls (as seen in photos below). There is a mouse hole chewed through on one end at the base. This is a very impressive and very heavy piece, measuring 69-1/2"w by 13"d by 42-1/4"t.
